I'm Robin - a backend-focused software developer at balticfinance Group, based in Niebüll, Germany. I care about clean APIs, solid data models, and infrastructure I actually understand end to end.
I work as a Software Developer at balticfinance Group (InsurTech), building backend systems with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL. Before that, I studied Applied Computer Science at Hochschule Flensburg, where my thesis explored a RAG-based AI system for generating DIY upcycling solutions - combining semantic retrieval with domain-specific knowledge to guide LLM-generated answers.
Outside of work, I keep digging deeper into backend development and run a self-hosted homelab - I'd rather understand and own my infrastructure than rent someone else's.
